Darron Gibson in X-rated rant at Sunderland team-mates: We’re s**t
SUNDERLAND midfielder Darron Gibson has launched an astonishing foul-mouthed tirade at team-mates he claims do not want to play for the club.
Gibson is shown in a video, posted on social media, saying he is “off his face” while verbally attacking his colleagues to Sunderland fans after the club’s friendly with Celtic on Saturday.
One fan is heard criticising Gibson for enjoying a night out after his side had been beaten 5-0 in the pre-season warm-up game at the Stadium of Light.
Defending himself, the Republic of Ireland says some of his team-mates were the ones who were not bothered about playing for the club.
Gibson said: “We’re s**t. Of course I’m bothered, I don’t want to be s**t.
“There are too many people at the club who don’t give a f**k. You tell me who doesn’t want to be at the club?”
One fan suggests Lamine Kone as one of those players and Gibson replies: “Right, there’s one.”
Jeremain Lens and Wahabi Khazri are also mentioned by the fans and Gibson says both times: “Next one.”
And he added: “Right, I’m off my face in here but I still want to play for Sunderland, the rest of them don’t though.”
Gibson signed for Sunderland for £1m from Everton in January but has failed to impress on the pitch – and his future could now be in doubt.
Manager Simon Grayson has already talked of players who are not working hard enough.
